"We are volcanoes. When we women offer our experience as our truth,
as human truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains."
- Ursula K. LeGuin
Taal Volcano, located in Talisay, Batangas is one of the active volcanoes in the country and part of the Pacific ring of fire. The entire volcano island has been declared a high-risk area and a permanent danger zone. Nevertheless, the area has a growing population.

"But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let
the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make
not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of
your souls."
- Khalil Gibran
Easily one of the most awesome places I've ever been to. That's my uncle and aunt in the picture. Nope, they didn't pose for me. It was a candid shot taken with my old camera phone back in 2008. I decided to post this image in celebration of Valentine's Day.

The water is wide I can not get o'er
And neither have I wings to fly
Give me a boat that will carry two
And both shall row my love and I
...A ship there is and she sails the sea
She's loaded deep as deep can be
But not so deep as the love I'm in
I know not if I sink or swim

Though inland far we be,
Our souls have sight of that immortal sea
Which brought us hither,
Can in a moment travel thither,
And see the children sport upon the shore,
And hear the mighty waters rolling evermore.

"What though the way be lonely, and dark the shadows fall,
I know wher’er it leadeth, my Father planned it all...
I sing through the shade and the sunshine, I’ll trust Him whatever befall;
I sing for I cannot be silent, my Father planned it all."

and reveals Himself to the weary, disillusioned men
who had toiled all night and taken nothing.
He ever stands upon life's most dreary and time-worn shores,
and as we gaze upon Him the shadows flee
and it is morning."

Praise the LORD, my soul. LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. The LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.
Psalm 104:1-3 NIV
