| Marina Bay, Singapore |
― C. JoyBell C.
My fourth time in Singapore, I went river cruising with my mother and brother. I didn't have a DSLR with me so I thought there was no chance I could get a decent night shot. Hmm... this one doesn't look spectacular but I like it anyway.
Here's a shot of the Marina Bay Sands from that same night. I posted this on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/-Bybs8JuC6/?taken-by=shyllzkie

| Ubud Monkey Forest, Bali, Indonesia |
This guy here's clutching onto his banana like it's the only one left in the world. But seriously, I don't think this creature will ever go hungry. This nature reserve on the island of Bali is a sanctuary for primates that are considered to be sacred. They're well protected and fed. Visitors are also allowed to feed them.
I just didn't like the horror stories I've heard about these creatures getting aggressive and hurting visitors. They say these monkeys are also good at stealing stuff so you better hold on to your belongings.
I don't blame them, though. These are probably learned behaviors than natural abilities. Anyways, it was a beautiful experience and thankfully, no one got hurt and no one was robbed during our time there.

Celebrating New Year's eve on the island of Bali, Indonesia with my friends Paz, Jamie, and Kuya Voltaire.
Another sunset, another year over, another dawn, another beginning.
The future may be unknown but one thing is certain - the ever faithful God -
the Lord Jesus is the same yesterday and today, and forever!
Happy new year, everyone!

“Solitude is a chosen separation for refining your soul.
Isolation is what you crave when you neglect the first.”
― Wayne Cordeiro
For as long as I can remember, I was never a shy person. I can easily start conversations even with strangers. I grew up singing in front of large audiences. I hosted a variety of events from high school to college, and so on.
While I love to talk, sing, and be with people, I'm also never a person who wouldn't grab the opportunity to be left on my own. I love silence, I love my space, I love the peace that I always find when I'm left to ponder in my own little corner. The older I get, I'm also realizing that I want and need more alone and quiet time.
This rock formation and pilgrimage temple in Bali reminds me of myself and my desire for solitude. Tanah Lot looks like it all has the peace and quiet. This picture makes you think it's far from civilization. But the truth is, if you zoom out, there are thousands of tourists taking pictures of this cultural and scenic icon in Bali.
It's not quiet out there. Perhaps it is inside but still the rustling waves no matter how refreshing, bring you back to the reality that around us there will always be plenty of noise. It reminds me that I may have my 'me' time but I'm never truly alone.

Ulun Danu Temple
Bali, Indonesia
Like the Philippines, Bali is gifted with natural resources. It has beautiful beaches, lush greens, and tropical forest reserves. So when my friends and I arrived in the island, my first impression was that I was still in the Philippines.
Bali is a home of temples and shrines from the mountains to the coastal areas. I remember trying to count the number of temples we've seen but eventually forgot that I was counting as you'll literally find these sacred places everywhere.
While each temple is unique, they say that all of them are either facing towards the mountains, the sea or sunrise.
This one in the picture is called the Ulun Danu, dedicated to the worship of the goddess of lakes and rivers. This is among the must-see temples in the island.
Another temple that is barraged by visitors is the Pura Tanah Lot. It's said to be one of the most important directional temples in the island. To see its picture, click here.

"By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God." - Hebrews 11:9-10
Conceived and designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, the Sydney Opera House is Sydney's most famous landmark and one of the most distinctive structures in the world.
The Opera House model alone took seven years to build and 17 years to complete the actual building.
This UNESCO World Heritage site rests close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Royal Botanic Gardens.

- What could God be thinking at the current moment?
- He must be so displeased with mankind.
- He loves us anyway.
- He's faithful and will remain the same.
From the Holy Scriptures, this beautiful arch of colors is actually a sign of the covenant God made with Noah. He promised to never again destroy the earth by flood for the judgment of sin.
In Genesis 9:12-16 (ERV):
“I will give you something to prove that I made this promise to you. It will continue forever to show that I have made an agreement with you and every living thing on earth. I am putting a rainbow in the clouds as proof of the agreement between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth, you will see the rainbow in the clouds. This agreement says that a flood will never again destroy all life on the earth. When I look and see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the agreement that continues forever. I will remember the agreement between me and every living thing on the earth.”
I feel like every time a rainbow appears, God is so disappointed with men but because of His love and faithfulness, remembers His promise instead.
Hence my fascination for rainbows...
